I am very excited to announce that Magnum Property Management Ltd. has formed a strategic alliance with Dominion Condo Management Corp. (“DCMC”) to handle management of our existing residential condominiums in the Edmonton and Calgary area. The power of this alliance will allow each company to focus on one area of property management. Magnum will focus on rental property management while DCMC will be focused on condominium management.
We began moving our existing condominium properties over to DCMC the middle of April, with the final properties moving over in June.

Many of you may remember that as of June 1, 2008 Bonnie’s role with Magnum Property Management Ltd. (“Magnum”) changed from Owner/Broker to Employee/Broker. As of March 31, 2011, Bonnie’s association with Magnum is coming to a close. Bonnie extends her heartfelt thanks for your immense support over the years.
For the properties that Bonnie was Property Manager, for the immediate future I will be taking on the role of Property Manager. When plans are finalized to deal with Bonnie’s absence we will notify every one of the changes.
We thank Bonnie for her years of dedication to Magnum and its properties. We look forward to continuing to serve as your property management company.
I am excited to announce the new Property Investment Management (PIM) Program. Though we quietly released the program in October 2010, we have been working out the kinks in our processes. We thank those early adopters for working with us during that time.
Though Magnum has been managing rental pools for over 20 years, we have not accepted individual investors. In the past 18 months we have been overwhelmed with requests to manage properties outside of our rental pool program. Last summer we started developing the program and last October we finally got a good working set of processes.
It might sound like simple transition, and on the surface it is. However, when it came to the back end office processes, it is very different from managing rental pools. The same tools are used, such as tenant approva,l but in the PIM Program the owner can have final say on all tenants, whereas for rental pools, we have the final say. The processes are complete and we are comfortable that they are solid enough to announce the program to everyone.

I was doing some maintainence on our email server and I had a quick look at the stats. We are averaging 3900 incoming emails per month and the same for outgoing emails per month. Explains why our email server is slow at different times.
